About MOAA

Seal of the Military Officers Association of America, 1929

The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan association of officers from America’s military services and the commissioned corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, together comprising the nation’s uniformed services. We are 350,000 active duty, retired, former, and National Guard and Reserve officers of the uniformed services, and surviving spouses, of all ranks and branches who serve or have served, as well as their family members. MOAA advocates with Congress, the Pentagon, the VA, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other departments to preserve and protect earned benefits for our uniformed services, veterans, their families, and surviving spouses through advocacy, leadership, education, and service, fulfilling MOAA’s promise to “Never Stop Serving.”

Our mission is to serve as a unified voice for current (active duty / Reserve / National Guard), former, and retired members of the uniformed services, advocating for their rights and interests while fostering camaraderie, professional development, and community engagement. We strive to create a supportive environment where members can connect with one another, share their experiences, and find a sense of belonging.

MOAA is committed to:

  • Advocating for our members: We represent the interests of past and present officers of the uniformed services on Capitol Hill and in the courts, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are met.
  • Providing valuable resources: We offer our members access to a wide range of resources, including educational programs, networking opportunities, and financial advice.
  • Fostering community: We create a sense of belonging and camaraderie among our members through local chapters and online communities.
  • Supporting Veterans and their families: We support initiatives that benefit Veterans and their families, such as healthcare, education, and employment.

By joining MOAA, you become part of a powerful network of current and former uniformed services officers who are dedicated to making a difference.
